Both Mac and Windows computers have multiple ways to turn on, turn off, and adjust the level of sound output on both desktop and laptop computers. The easiest way to adjust sound levels on a Mac is through the sound volume keys on the keyboard menu, located on the top row of the keyboard. You can also make changes to the volume levels in the System Preferences of a Mac. To do this, select the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen, and choose
System Preferences in the drop down menu that appears. From the System Preferences, select Sound. Select Output, then adjust the sound level by using the sliding control labeled Output.
To change the volume level on a Windows computer, select the speaker icon located next to the clock on the bottom right corner of the screen and use the sliding control to adjust the volume level. If this option does not exist, you can enable it by selecting the digital clock on the bottom right corner of the taskbar, selecting Properties, and turning the Volume option to On.
