What Is the Towing Capacity of a Jeep Cherokee?
Last Updated Apr 5, 2020 4:49:58 PM ET
The towing capacity of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk models, including those with a 2.4-liter or 3.2-liter engine, is 2,000 pounds. The capacity increases to 4,500 pounds when an optional tow package is added to the 3.2-liter Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk models.
The optional tow package includes a transmission-oil cooler that reduces internal temperatures when the vehicle is pulling harder than usual, such as on mountain roads. All of the 2014 models include a nine-speed automatic transmission, and a manual transmission is not an option. The Trailhawk model includes a locking rear differential system that assists during off-road driving.
