How Do You Stop Bath Towels From Shedding?

Stop your towels from shedding by washing them in the washing machine. Add 1/2 cup distilled vinegar to the rinse cycle, and dry the towel without the aid of a dryer sheet. It takes several wash cycles to completely stop the shedding process.
-
Wash your towels
Wash your new towels with your favorite detergent. Follow the instructions on the towels’ tags as to the best water temperature.
-
Add vinegar to the rinse cycle
Add 1/2 cup of distilled vinegar to the washing machine when the rinse cycle begins. Vinegar helps the towels release lint and any built-up detergent.
-
Dry the towels
Dry the towels in your clothes dryer when the washing cycle is complete. Don’t add a dryer sheet or fabric softener.
-
Use a lint roller
Remove your towels from the dryer, lay them flat on any surface, and roll the towels with a lint roller. The lint roller removes any loose fuzz that didn’t fall away in the dryer.
-
Repeat the process
It takes several cycles of this process to completely stop towels from shedding. Repeat the process from start to finish until you no longer see a large amount of lint being pulled away on the lint roller.
