Stations of the Cross for kids is a simplified version of the Christian Lenten tradition of the Stations of the Cross that children can understand. Christian worshippers perform Stations of the Cross in remembrance of what happened to Jesus while he carried the cross along Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem.
Christian worshippers often perform the Stations of the Cross ceremony as an active prayer and physically walk to 14 stations of the Way of the Cross where they stop to pray. The first Station of the Cross is where Pontius Pilate condemns Jesus to death, followed by the second station where Jesus bears his cross. The final Stations of the Cross are where Jesus dies on the cross, where his believers take him off the cross and where they lay him in his tomb.
