The standard width for all slide-in stoves and most freestanding stoves is 30 inches, as of 2015. Most ranges have a stove-top height of 36 inches, which makes the cooking surface level with standard counter tops.
There is no standard depth for stoves, although most are about 24 inches deep, which is the depth of a standard kitchen cabinet. Freestanding stoves usually include rear control panels that are up to 6 inches tall, and slide-in stoves are designed without a back control panel so that they can fit into an island. Although a 30-inch-wide configuration is most common for freestanding stoves, they are sold in widths ranging from 20 to 40 inches.
