Last Updated Apr 14, 2020 1:14:02 AM ET
The SRS light on a Honda Civic indicates a problem with the airbags. The issue could be several different things, such as a problem with the airbag sensor, a problem with the airbags or an airbag detonation. The SRS light coming on may indicate that the airbags are deactivated.
When the SRS light comes on, it is advisable to have a Honda-certified mechanic inspect the car for potential issues and check if the airbags for the Civic model are subject to a recall. Several issues from 2003 through 2013 caused Honda to institute recall orders for Civics due to airbag problems.
