What Size Is a Standard Work Bench?
Last Updated Apr 9, 2020 11:54:39 PM ET
A standard workbench is about 60 inches long, 30 inches deep and 30 to 34 inches tall. These dimensions typically are considered the minimum acceptable dimensions for a workbench. Most basic, commercially available workbenches feature these or similar dimensions.
Workbench heights vary based on factors such as the height of the worker and the type of work being performed. Workbenches often exceed these dimensions when space allows or when the work being performed requires it. Workbenches used to build doors often feature widths of 36 to 48 inches, while benches for building cabinets may feature heights as short as 18 inches.
