What Is a Shod Foot Weapon?
Last Updated Apr 16, 2020 9:21:22 PM ET
A shod foot refers to an assault that involves the kicking or stomping of a victim by an assailant who is wearing shoes. The shoe itself is considered the weapon used in the attack, and the assailant is charged for using the shoe as a weapon.
The law does not require any specific shoe or style of shoe to be worn, simply for the foot to be used as a weapon by the assailant to strike the victim. In many states the use of a shod foot as a weapon is a felony, though it is usually reserved for cases with significant physical trauma.
