There is currently no scientific proof that dragons, as described in mythology, exist. However, the Komodo dragon exists and can grow up to 10 feet in length. This led people over the past few centuries to mistakenly believe fire-breathing dragons were real.
It is believed by scientists that the mythology of dragons began as a case of mistaken identity when looking at dinosaur fossils and animals that looked scary. Scientists point to the fact that the sheer size of dragons limit the possibility of its existence due to satellite imaging, camera technology and the lack of credible witness experiences. While both civilizations in the East and West hold dragons in their mythology, Western societies tend to look at dragons as threats, while Eastern societies revere them.
