An easy way to sanitize manicure and pedicure tools at home is to soak them in hot, soapy water and heat them in an oven. The required supplies are water, dish soap, a baking dish, a dish towel, a baking sheet, oven mitts and an oven. This procedure takes about 35 minutes.

  1. Prepare the soap bath

Fill a baking dish halfway with extremely hot water. Add a generous squirt of dish soap. Agitate the mixture with one of the manicure tools.

  2. Soak the tools

Submerge the manicure and pedicure tools in the soap bath. Soak them for 15 minutes.

  3. Rinse and dry the tools

Discard the soapy water and rinse the tools in lukewarm water. Dry them individually with a kitchen towel.

  4. Bake the tools

Place the dry tools on an old baking sheet and preheat your oven. Set it to its lowest setting. When the oven is ready, don a pair of oven mitts, and slide the baking sheet into the oven. Bake the tools for 10 minutes.

  5. Cool the tools

Turn off the oven. Put the oven mitts on, remove the baking sheet, and place it on the stove. Cool the tools for 10 minutes before touching them with your bare hands.
