Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and PopcornPopper.com sell Flavacol as of 2015. This popular seasoning contains salt and butter flavoring; its bright yellow color replicates the color of movie theater popcorn.
When added to popcorn kernels and oil before popping, Flavacol transforms ordinary popcorn into traditional theater-style fare. During production, Flavacol seasoning salt undergoes chemical processing that removes potentially bitter compounds. The result is a flavorful, buttery salt.
A 1/2-tablespoon scoop of Flavacol flavors up to 6 ounces of popcorn kernels, according to PopcornSupply.com. Each 1/4-teaspoon serving contains 390 milligrams of sodium and no calories or carbohydrates. A 35-ounce package of Flavacol contains 992 servings.
