To remove tape residue from wood, soak the adhesive with vegetable oil, and wipe off the residue with a paper towel. Spray the wood with a solution of dish detergent and white vinegar to remove the oil, then blot the wood with a paper towel.
- Soak the residue
Use a paper towel to apply a coating of vegetable oil over the tape residue. Let the oil sit for 30 minutes to loosen the bonds of the adhesive.
- Wipe off the residue
Once loose, wipe off the tape residue with a paper towel. Change the paper towel as needed to avoid spreading the oil to other parts of wood.
- Apply the cleaner
Mix dish detergent with white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray the wood with the solution to clean off the oil residue. Blot the surface with a paper towel.
