How Do You Remove Permanent Marker From Metal?
Last Updated Mar 30, 2020 8:03:34 PM ET

Remove permanent marker from metal by spraying WD-40 on the mark. Let the spray sit on the mark for a few minutes before wiping it away with a clean white cloth. Make sure to turn the cloth to a clean area before a second wipe.
Once the WD-40 is completely wiped away, use a clean cloth and rubbing alcohol to wipe down the area. If the permanent marker spot is still there, use a melamine cleaning eraser like Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the marker stain. Be careful not to rub the spot too hard; aggressive rubbing can remove the metal's finish.
