How Do You Prepare a Petite Sirloin Roast?

Prepare a petite sirloin roast by rubbing it all over with a mix of spices, herbs and light oil, and then cook in 350°F oven for up to 1 hour and 15 minutes. The roast should be allowed to rest for up to 10 minutes after cooking, before serving. A petite sirloin roast weighs approximately 1.5 to 2.5 pounds and has all of the connective tissue and fat removed.

Preparing this extra-lean piece of beef is a relatively simple process. It takes approximately 15 – 20 minutes of prep time before cooking, and is ready to eat in under 2 hours.

  • 1.5 lb petite sirloin roast
  • 1 cup fresh parsley leaves
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil

Cooking the roast:

  1. Preparation
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Blend parsley, garlic, pepper and olive oil until well mixed. Rub the mixture into the roast on all sides.

  3. Place in a pan
  4. Put the roast with the fat side up on the roasting pan. Pop it in the oven for 60 to 75 minutes.

  5. Let roast rest
  6. Place a heat-resistant meat thermometer into the thickest part of the roast. When the temperature reads between 135°F and 150°F, the roast is ready to be removed from the oven. Put the roast on a carving board and cover lightly with aluminum foil. Allow it to rest about 10 minutes before slicing.
