What Does PPR Stand for in Fantasy Football?

"PPR" stands for points per reception. PPR leagues place a greater emphasis on football players who catch more passes in a game, such as wide receivers, tight ends and sure-handed running backs.
PPR scoring in fantasy football is not significantly different from standard scoring, which places a higher emphasis on yardage and touchdowns. PPR scoring does require a more strategic approach to building a fantasy team than standard scoring. A fantasy owner may take a closer look at the number of times a certain player is targeted for a pass from the quarterback in a previous game or season. A higher target rate means more possible receptions for a player, making that player more valuable in a PPR league.
