One of the most well-known prayers, commonly referred to as the Lord's Prayer, did not occur during one of Jesus miracles, but it is used as an example of prayer that could also have application for miracle prayers. Jesus' words in Matthew 6:9-13 ask for God to bring his kingdom, allowing his will to be done "on earth as it is in Heaven." A miracle is typically understood to be a supernatural act of God visible in an earthly way. When a Christian prays for God's will to be done, he is asking for a miracle to be accomplished, such as for a sick person to be healed.
Ephesians 6:10-18 is another frequently quoted passage of the Bible associated with praying for miracles. These verses describe a spiritual battle, in which a Christian struggles against demonic powers using spiritual "weapons." In this passage, spiritual disciplines such as believing the truth, demonstrating righteousness, having strong faith, sharing the Gospel and reading the Bible are compared to putting on a suit of armor as would a solider preparing for battle. These verses are frequently quoted by Christians when preparing to pray for a miracle.Learn more about Religion
