Last Updated Mar 30, 2020 2:43:42 AM ET

Poulan Pro lawn mowers are made by the Husqvarna Group and produced in McRae, Georgia. Poulan was founded in 1944 as an American chainsaw company based out of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Husqvarna, Poulan and Poulan Pro were all at one time owned by the Swedish company Electrolux. Poulan Pro mowers feature several kinds of motors, which vary depending on the mower's model and size. Poulan Pro uses both two- and four-cycle motors. Briggs and Stratton makes the smaller displacement motors, and Kohler makes the majority of the larger engines. The zero-turn mowers utilize both motor manufacturers, some with dual piston designs.
