A popular National Boss's Day saying is, "By working faithfully eight hours a day, you may eventually get to be the boss and work 12 hours a day." Another popular saying is, "The ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people."
National Boss's Day occurs on Oct. 16 each year. It is a day meant for employees to thank their bosses for being considerate and fair throughout the year. A secretary working for State Farm created it in 1958 in hopes of helping employees understand the commitment and hard work their supervisors put into their jobs and to strengthen the bond between bosses and their staffs.
