Why Is Phil Mickelson Getting a Divorce From His Wife?

There is no evidence that Phil Mickelson is getting divorced. In fact, he mentions his wife and kids in an interview with Fox Sports.

In an interview with Fox Sports, Phil Mickelson mentions making big changes, but these changes are related to moving out of California and possibly quitting golf. He wants to make changes so that he no longer pays over 60 percent in taxes. In the interview, he never once alludes to getting a divorce.

Phil Mickelson and Amy McBride met in 1992 at Arizona State University and were married on November 16, 1996. They have three children: Amanda Brynn, Sophia Isabel and Evan Samuel. Amy Mickelson, once a cheerleader for the Phoenix Suns, became one of the most visible spouses on the golf field. She traveled with her husband on the PGA Tour, often bringing along the children. Phil and Amy even founded a charitable foundation.

Amy Michelson was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Phil Mickelson promptly dropped out of the PGA Tour to support his wife during her health challenges. However, despite her serious health problems and lack of energy, Amy was at hole 18 to cheer her husband on to his third Masters win.
