The Nutrition Month in the Philippines is in June every year. This is pursuant to the Nutrition Act of the Philippines that was signed on June 25, 1974.The National Nutrition Council (NNC) leads the launching of the celebration every year with a specific message to the people.
The National Nutrition Month in the Philippines brings people together to address issues of national importance, such as malnutrition, hunger and nutrient-related diseases. During the celebration, the local government units and NNC members are urged to harmonize programs to ensure that Filipinos have safe, nutritious and adequate food. The Filipinos engage in various activities, such as planting trees and vegetables at day care centers, residences, hospitals and schools.
