A standard scuba tank weighs between 28 and 34.4 pounds. The weight depends on the size of the tank and whether it is made of steel or aluminum. Steel scuba tanks weigh less than aluminum because the material is thinner.

The diameter of a scuba tank is typically 7.25 inches. Scuba tanks range in length from 19.7 to 28.8 inches. Standard scuba tanks have a pressure of 3,000 pounds per square inch. Low-pressure tanks range from 2,400 to 2,650 pounds per square inch, and high-pressure tanks range from 3,300 to 3,500 pounds per square inch.

Steel tanks are lighter and last longer than aluminum tanks. However, aluminum tanks are increasing in popularity due to their lower cost.
