A 2015 Ford F-150 weighs 4,942 pounds with a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 engine, whereas a 2014 Ford F-150 weighs 5,674 pounds with a 5.0-liter V8 engine. Ford decreased the engine size of its 2015 model to save weight and increase fuel efficiency without decreasing cargo capacity.
Ford F-150 models from 2014 weigh between 4,685 and 6,203 pounds, depending upon engine size and cab arrangement. There are four different engine sizes, from 3.5 to 6.2 liters, and cabs range from 5.5 feet to 8 feet long. Four-wheel-drive models weigh more because of the extra drive mechanisms. Curb weights of these models include full fluid levels, accounting for oil, gasoline and transmission fluid, but do not include the weight of passengers.
