How Much Does a Couch Weigh?

The weight of a couch varies based on the size, type and if it has heavy elements, such as a sofa bed. An average three-seated couch is approximately 350 pounds.
Since there are so many types of couches made with varied materials, it is hard to distinguish a single average weight. Some couches use wooden legs and framework, while others use metal. A small futon can be as light as just over 200 pounds, while a four-seated sectional reaches up to 1,050 pounds or more. Certain features cause a couch to be heavier, such as having reclining capabilities. This requires more metal mechanisms, which increase the weight of a couch.
