The official Myers-Briggs personality test is available online at MBTIonline.com for a nominal fee. The Myers & Briggs Foundation also certifies coaches, counselors and therapists to administer the test online. The foundation publishes the list of certified practitioners on the MBTI® Master Practitioner Referral Network website.
MBTIonline.com offers the official Myers-Briggs test for $49.95, as of October 2015. Once a customer completes the assessment, the website provides a full personality-type description. The document describes the personality type, explains common characteristics and explains relationships with 15 other types. It also provides information about ideal careers and potential blind spots.
People who do not want to pay to take the official test can visit free test websites. HumanMetrics.com offers a free test based on the Myers-Briggs typology. 16Personalities.com offers a similar test. Both versions use a similar methodology; participants must answer a series of questions based on a scale of agreement. The Human Metrics test features five levels ranging from a strong "no" to a strong "yes." Test-takers also have the option to give an "uncertain" answer. The 16 Personalities test has a six-level agreement/disagreement scale. Both tests return one of the 16 Myers-Briggs personality types, and offer a thorough description of the type's characteristics.
