For a nonathletic girl of the same age, the maximum heart rate is 212, while the recommended exercise target range is 127 to 170, TeensInCharge.org reports.
A physically fit boy of the same age has a maximum heart rate of 198 with a recommended exercise range of 119 to 158, while a nonathletic boy has a maximum heart rate of 206 and a recommended exercise range of 125 to 165 beats per minute, the site reports.
