How Many Times Can You Fail a Road Test?
In most cases an individual is allowed three attempts at the road driving test, but this can vary by state. If all attempts are failed, an individual must retake the driver’s education course.
Individuals are required to obtain a driver’s license from the state in which they reside. All states recognize the driver’s license of a temporary visitor from another state. Different types of driving licenses exist, including the standard unrestricted license, the chauffeur license and the motorcycle license. A commercial driver’s license is needed in order to operate vehicles weighing 26,000 pounds or more for commercial use. It is also needed for vehicles that are used to transport hazardous materials and vehicles that transport 16 or more people.
