How Many People Graduate College?

As of September 2014, the U.S. population is 318 million people and approximately 30 percent, or 95 million, have graduated college with a bachelor’s degree. Another 17 percent, or 54 million, have graduated with an associate's degree.

As of 2010, 30 percent of whites, 20 percent of blacks and 52 percent of Asian and Pacific Islanders graduate college with bachelor's degrees. Additionally, 14 percent of Hispanic people graduate college with a bachelor's, including 10 percent of Mexicans, 17.5 percent of Puerto Ricans and 26.2 percent of Cubans. Both black and Hispanic women are more likely to graduate college than men of their races. Overall, males are 0.7 percent more likely to graduate with a bachelor's degree.
