Who Was Malachi in the Bible?

In the Bible, Malachi was a prophet who wrote the final book in the Old Testament that was simply titled “Malachi.” The word “Malachi” is Hebrew for “messenger,” and Malachi was thought to be sent to share God’s message with the people.

There is not much known about Malachi, because in his book he did not share other personal information as many of the other prophets did such as the leaders ruling at the time of his existence or his parent’s names. It is inferred that he was alive during the Judean age and was writing to a Judean audience from the writing in his book of the Bible.
