How Do You Make Homemade Hair Bleach?

An easy method of lightening your hair with ingredients found in the home uses honey, vinegar and olive oil. Not only does this recipe not contain harsh chemicals that damage hair, but the olive oil keeps hair from drying out while you lighten it.
-
Gather the ingredients
You need 2 cups of distilled vinegar, 1 cup of raw, uncooked honey, 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, and 1 tablespoon of ground cardamom or cinnamon. Raw honey has a small trace of hydrogen peroxide, which helps with lightening. Both cardamom and cinnamon work equally well to boost the lightening effects, so choose whichever you prefer.
-
Mix the ingredients
Mix all of the ingredients together in a small container.
-
Prepare your hair
Dampen and detangle your hair.
-
Apply the mixture to your hair
If you want to lighten all of your hair, comb the mixture through with a brush or a comb. If you just want highlights, apply it only to the sections you want to lighten.
-
Wrap hair with plastic
Wrap your head in plastic, or put on a shower cap. Then, wrap your head with a towel. This keeps the mixture from drying out while the color develops.
-
Allow the color to develop
Leave the mixture in your hair overnight, and wash it out in the morning.
