If the operation is performed on an outpatient basis, the patient may leave the hospital after two hours. Recovery takes several days.

During this recovery time, the patient may experience a watery or bloody, vaginal discharge. Therefore, it is advised that the patient wear a sanitary pad to quell the bleeding.
