How Long Does It Take to Digest Pork?

For most people, it takes between four and five hours to digest pork. The work that goes into digesting pork and other meat-based protein sources is one reason why some nutritionists argue that people were not meant to consume meat, states QualityHealth.
When people eat pork as part of a meal, all of the other parts of the meal remain in the stomach until those that digest the most slowly make it through. This means that vegetables, fruit and other foods that the body digests more quickly sit and ferment in the stomach, generating acid and gas on the way to indigestion, according to QualityHealth.
