How Long Do I Bake a Precooked Ham?
Last Updated Apr 16, 2020 1:20:57 PM ET
Precooked hams come in two types: partially and fully cooked. A partially cooked ham needs to be baked for about 20 minutes per pound in a 350 degree oven. A fully cooked ham only needs to be heated for about 10 minutes per pound in a 350 degree.
The ideal internal temperature for a precooked ham is 148 degrees F because it ensures optimal tenderness. Many precooked hams do not come complete with glazes. Many people add a glaze to a precooked ham to render it even more delectable. The glazing process does not add to the baking time; however, the glaze is perfected by turning on the broiler for five minutes at the end of the baking process.
