Why Is the Kidde Carbon Monoxide Alarm Beeping?
A beeping carbon monoxide detector should be considered a warning that the carbon monoxide levels in the home are higher than acceptable levels. Kidde carbon monoxide detectors also beep every 30 seconds when it is time to replace the detector.
Kidde carbon monoxide detectors are designed to be replaced every 7 years. The detector beeps until it is removed and replaced with a new model. Typically, Kidde carbon monoxide detectors begin to beep several weeks in advance of the 7 year expiration. Most Kidde carbon monoxide detectors also beep or chirp when the battery requires replacement. If the battery has recently been replaced, check the expiration date of the device by contacting the manufacturer only after ruling out carbon monoxide as the cause of the beeping.
