As of 2015, some of the features in the Acura MDX technology package include the Acura in-dash navigation system, an upgraded audio system, a voice-recognition system, a cellular interface and a special exterior package. This package also includes extra safety features and a blind-spot information system.
The Acura MDX technology package has a navigation system with an 8-inch screen placed precisely to keep the driver's eyes on the road while updating her on traffic conditions in real time. The audio system has 10 speakers, an iPod interface, an internal hard drive of 15 gigabytes, a CD player and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The driver controls the audio system using the same center screen used for navigation. The voice-recognition software controls audio, climate and navigational features, and allows the driver to speak an address into the system, to help keep the driver's hands free.
The cellular interface available in the technology package links the driver's phone to the audio system and center screen using a Bluetooth link. The driver can receive and make phone calls without handling her phone. The blind-spot information system alerts the driver to any vehicles or objects located in the blind spots if an indicator light is blinking. The exterior package includes 19-inch alloy wheels, windshield wipers with a rain sensor and puddle lights. Additional safety features include an alert when the vehicle is drifting into another lane and a collision system that cautions the driver when she is too close to an object ahead of her.
