What Is the Height of Volleyball Poles?
Last Updated Mar 26, 2020 8:11:13 PM ET

Volleyball poles, which are used to support the net on a volleyball court, stand 8 feet 4 inches above the ground. The actual poles are longer than this, approximately 10 to 16 feet, because they extend into the ground for stability of the entire structure.
Volleyball poles are placed exactly 36 feet apart from one another to accommodate the length of the net. Whenever possible, the poles should be cemented into place. The poles must also be void of any extruding parts or pieces. If this is not possible, the extending pieces should be properly padded for safety of the players and bystanders.
