What Is a Good Way to Defrost a Frozen Pie?

Fill a shallow pan with warm water, and place the frozen pie in its original wrapping inside. This helps thaw the frozen pie faster. Do not microwave the pie, as quick heating is detrimental to the structure and taste of the pie.

Thaw the pie in the original wrapping, as this keeps the condensation outside of the wrapping. Whenever possible, move the frozen pie into the refrigerator several days prior to planned consumption. On the day of consumption, simply set the pie on a kitchen counter, and allow the pie to reach room temperature. Preheat the sheet pan to allow the bottom crust to cook lightly faster than the top crust. This allows for a consistent cooking throughout the pie.
