The best cities in Florida for raising a family depend on the criteria used, but as of 2014, some of the top ones include Pembroke Pines, Cape Coral and Port St. Lucie. Some of the larger cities made the cut as well, including Jacksonville, Tampa, Tallahassee and Orlando.

Cape Coral ranks as the second-best city overall but first for health and safety. Pembroke Pines, the top Florida city for raising a family, is highest ranked in the education, affordability and socio-economic categories. However, it comes in third for safety and ninth for fun and activities.
Tampa comes in first for the availability of fun family activities, with Tallahassee, Jacksonville and St. Petersburg in second, third and fourth places. St. Petersburg and Jacksonville are also the second and third most affordable Florida cities in which to live. Out of the top cities in the entire United States in which to raise a family, Pembroke Pines, the top Florida city, comes in at number 44, with the second-place Cape Coral at number 65 overall.
