There are several ways to fix a Frigidaire refrigerator or freezer that is not cold enough that depend on the source of the problem. These include fixing the condenser coils, the evaporator fan motor and the temperature control thermostat. Problems in any one of these areas can result in temperatures that are too high.
Dirty condenser coils can cause the temperature inside the refrigerator or freezer to be too high because they do not dissipate heat as intended, reducing the cooling efficiency of the device. The coils can be cleaned to restore efficiency, but in cases of extreme dirt or disrepair, they may need to be replaced.
A faulty evaporator fan motor can also lead to the refrigerator or freezer not cooling enough. If this motor fails, the unit is no longer able to circulate cold air. This can prevent the refrigerator from cooling, but in some cases, the freezer may still cool down. Fixing the motor helps keep both sides cool.
The temperature control thermostat could also be the cause of temperature issues.
