What Are Examples of Bio Data?

According to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, some examples of bio data are how many books a person has read in the past month and a person's self-described procrastination history. Bio data includes any biographical information about a person.

Bio data ranges from simple facts such as name, date of birth and current address, to complex ones such as aptitude results from testing and detailed ethnic background profiles. Bio data is either self-reported or collected. Job seekers present self-reported bio data in the form of a resume or curriculum vitae to prospective employers. Prospective employers use pre-employment screening tests to collect more bio data to use in hiring decisions. Researchers collect large amounts of bio data from surveys and observational studies to use when formulating and testing hypotheses.
