In the account of Genesis, Enoch is part of the seventh generation from Adam. Enoch, the son of Jared, walked with the Lord and lived 300 years before being taken up into heaven.
Enoch is only found in the Bible in a handful of passages, the most prominent of those are Genesis 5, Hebrews 11 and Jude 1. He is described as one who pleased God, which is why God took him up to heaven so he would not die. He is included in a list of mighty Biblical figures along with Abraham, Moses and David, all praised for their great faith.
