What Did Social Darwinists Believe?

Social Darwinists believed in the theory that only the strong can survive, and in this case, Europeans were considered superior to other races. This idea was promoted by a 19th-century philosopher called Herbert Spencer.

At the time when the idea of Social Darwinism was being promoted, Europe was more advanced than other countries in areas such as government, economy and technology. This theory is based on Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection, which he did not extend to social and economic levels. Social Darwinism has been wrongly used as a justification by criminals and other people for their wrong actions. For example, Nazis killed Jewish people and claimed that they were cleaning out inferior genetics. According to this theory, people with strength survive, while weak people do not survive.
