It is not certain what Jesus Christ looked like, mostly because his portraits over the centuries are not uniform, generally following the trends of the times. In most traditional Western depictions, Jesus Christ is a fair-skinned individual with or without a beard.
Historical studies suggest that Jesus Christ had a dark complexion, which was typical for an individual with a Middle Eastern descent. The New Testament does not offer too much information about Jesus' appearance, but Quranic and hadith traditions mention that he had a reddish complexion and curly hair. In many portraits from the medieval period, he appears with straight hair.
