The phrase "Kingdom of God" can refer to the kingdom of heaven where Christians believe the righteous go after death. It may also refer to the establishment of the values of the kingdom of heaven on earth. The phrase appears in numerous places in the Bible, such as Luke 13:18-21.
There are many different, though closely related, meanings of the phrase "Kingdom of God," and different Christian traditions sometimes emphasize one of these meanings over others. Some see the "Kingdom of God" as referring mainly to heaven, whereas others see it as a spiritual reign of God in the human heart. Jehovah's Witnesses see it as God's governance. Roman Catholics believe the kingdom of God to already be present in the Church and that this kingdom will come to fulfillment at the end of time in heaven.
