The Roman Catholic Liturgy of the Hours, the Five Daily Prayers of Islam and the Three Daily Prayers of Judaism are examples of daily prayers. Catholics can recite the Liturgy of the Hours in private, as can Muslims with their Five Daily Prayers. Jews pray the Three Prayers in common.
These daily prayers give structure to the day of the Catholic, Muslim or Jew. The Roman Catholic Liturgy of the Hours corresponds to certain times during the day, although this structure does not always oblige those living outside of monasteries. The Muslim's Five Daily Prayers take place between mid-day and nightfall. The Jewish Three Daily Prayers take place in the evening, morning and afternoon.
