The CultureGrams database has been active since the company was formed in 1974. AFS-USA operates the project that provides information about cultures in 187 countries throughout the world.
CultureGrams produces reports that highlight the customs and traditions of residents within a country and its cultures. This information is utilized primarily by educational, governmental and non-profit organizations. Its reports are available through the database and as printable documents.
The database was formed by ProQuest and Brigham Young University. AFS-USA, also known as American Field Service, is an entity that promotes student exchange programs, something it has done for more than 65 years, as of 2015.
