Computers help people by offering fast and efficient means of doing many things, from communication and multimedia processing to medicine and science. Computers also help mankind by making tasks easier, including tasks done by businesses and researchers. Small computers are also used in many things, from MP3 players to industrial robots.

For most people, computers are used for a certain set of tasks. Computers help consumers get entertainment, perform word processing, access the Internet and email for instant digital communications and even play games. Computers are also used for banking and help people access their money at banks and ATMs.

Computers help businesses and organizations with communication, marketing, accounting, data storage, documents and reporting, education and research. They also help anyone with access to a computer to learn and gather information. Computers with connections to the Internet can provide users with almost limitless information on a variety of subjects.

Computers also help with scientific fields, such as medicine. Computerized order entry gives doctors faster access to more complete medical records and increases communication between health care entities. Computers are necessary for the functioning of high-tech medical equipment like MRI and CT scans. Computer models can also help with other forms of science. Researchers can enter data into a computer and analyze the results, or they create entirely digital simulations of events to study things they can’t in the real world.
