There are 15 million Mormons worldwide and 1.8 billion Christians. Christianity is the religion with the most members in the world; it is predominant in North and South America, Europe and Southern Africa and growing in other parts of Africa and Asia.
Mormons are located mostly in the United States, Latin America, Canada and the Philippines. Although most Mormons consider themselves Christians, the history between Mormonism and the more traditional branches of Christianity, such as Protestantism and Roman Catholicism, has been rife with conflict, partly because Mormonism claims to restore and perfect conventional Christianity through the revelations of its prophet. Most Christians consider Mormonism a departure from Christianity.
