Maintain the luster and shine of stainless steel cookware by hand washing it in warm soapy water with a non-abrasive sponge and drying it thoroughly. You need a gentle dish washing detergent, a non-abrasive sponge, white distilled vinegar and some soft clean towels to thoroughly clean stainless steel cookware. A medium sized pan can be cleaned in five minutes.

  1. Wash new stainless steel cookware before using it

Wash the cookware in warm soapy water to remove dust or dirt, and dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth. Always dry stainless steel cookware thoroughly to prevent a film from forming.

  2. Hand wash stainless steel cookware to preserve its shine

Allow the cookware to cool completely before submerging it in warm soapy water. Clean the cookware with a non-abrasive sponge or soft bristled brush. Rinse the cookware with clean water and dry it with a soft cloth. Never soak stainless steel cookware, as this could damage its surface.

  3. Remove hard water stains from stainless steel cookware with white vinegar

Moisten the corner of a clean cloth with a small amount of distilled white vinegar. Use a little pressure on the cloth, and rub the stainless steel to remove hard water stains. Apply more pressure and vinegar as needed to remove stubborn stains.
