How Do You Check the Status of Your Disability Claim Online?

Five days after filing, the status of a Social Security disability claim can be checked through the Social Security website. In order to check your status, submit your Social Security number and the confirmation code you were given when your application was submitted.
- Access the website
Use your preferred browser to go to the official Social Security Administration website.
- Check your application status
On the home page, scroll down to the Items of Interest section located in the middle of the page. Click on the Application Status link.
- Complete the form
Enter your Social Security number and the confirmation code from your original submission in the designated boxes. Go to the next page to review the status of your disability claim.
