A chaplet prayer is a prayer recited over a chaplet, which is a string of beads similar to a rosary but with only 55 beads; it is one-third of the size of a rosary. The Christian prayers are popular in the Roman Catholic Church.
Chaplet prayers are recited over the chaplet, and the beads are used to count the prayers. The purpose of chaplet prayers are to honor Jesus, the Virgin Mary, God or Saints, or to request qualities, such as faith and purity. Some popular chaplet prayers are the "Chaplet of Divine Mercy," the "Chaplet of the Five Wounds of Jesus," the "Chaplet of Saint Patrick" and the "Immaculate Conception Chaplet."
